Magnetic Data Acquisition System (MAGDAS)

Malaysia has a dense network of magnetometers through a network of magnetometers known as the Magnetic Data Acquisition System (MAGDAS) and is capable of making geomagnetic measurements in real time. MAGDAS is used in monitoring changes in the earth’s magnetic field caused by solar activity. A total of 7 magnetometers have been installed in Malaysia. This is the result of collaboration with researchers from Kyushu University, Japan as well as local researchers.
